Mario is an innovative and strategic bilingual (English, Spanish, and basic Italian) Executive with 15+ years of experience in international IT in a variety of industries. He has a natural curiosity to identify the best technologies and practices available to determine the top standards for deployment of systems and platforms. He is adept in desktop and server architecture, capacity analysis, and availability to new environments with a constant focus on security. He expertly aligns priorities with enterprise and divisional strategy. He is highly analytical and able to rapidly build expertise, discover high return opportunities and cultivate productive relationships with cross-functional teams, senior leaders, and key stakeholders. He engages appropriate resources, provides guidance, and training to drive efficient completion of large-scale initiatives and projects.
In his early career, Mario served as a Customer Support Engineer, IT Infrastructure Coordinator, Network Support Specialist, and Network Support Administrator at notable companies like GFI Software, Grupo Prosein C.A., Satori Tech C.A., Corporacion de Servicios AFA C.A., and Secven. In these positions, he led IT teams of 5+ analysts and engineers, solved complex technical issues, managed more than 500 users across 4 countries, and managed and supported all network and security operations.
In 2016, Mario took his talents to a FinTech company and served as a Support Systems Engineer. He was the most senior member of the team, leading for 4 IT professionals to enhance corporate infrastructure in a software development environment.
The next year, he began working at a software company that develops easy, smart, and affordable enterprise-class IT solutions for businesses serving customers in Europe and the US. Here, Mario resolved client’s technical questions and issues over the telephone, email and/or internet chat in the areas of system configurations/setup, product functionality and bugs/enhancements.
Mario spent the next 3 years at Planet, a 30-year-old fin tech company based in Ireland. As a Senior Cyber Security Engineer, he developed the company’s information security training program and created consistent processes for customer resolutions. He was quickly promoted to Senior Systems Engineer where he collaborated with company stakeholders to secure the first PCI certification for a mobile product, achieving certification of the tax portion of the business that determined what, when, where taxes are needed and credited back. Most notably, Mario established a framework for client using a SaaS tool to allow auditors to add in controls, which reduced the 3-month engagement process to 1.
In 2019, Mario began working at the Society for Human Resource Management (“SHRM”). In just one year, Mario was promoted to Customer Experience Lead where he developed and created a call escalation process and trained others on the process. His process resulted in positive and effective call management and an enhanced customer experience. In 2020, Mario was promoted to Customer Experience Knowledge Architect to develop SHRM’s Knowledge Base and increase its Net Promoter Score.
In 2022, Mario landed a job at AXA Group, a world leading provider of financial protection. At AXA, Mario serves as the Digital Security Officer (“DSO”) and AMIH Chief Information Security Officer (“AMIH CISO”). As DSO, he is accountable for developing, implementing, and successfully following-up on all digital security activities, including cloud, projects, and leading. He advises on the security architecture for new and existing solutions and oversees 150+ employees. As AMIH CISO, Mario develops, implements, and monitors a strategic, comprehensive enterprise information security management program and serves as a key advisor to local entity senior management on information security matters.
Mario completed Systems Engineering courses and holds certifications as a Payment Card Industry Professional, Governance Risk and Compliance Professional, and is a qualified People Manager through SHRM.
